Austrian Wine Dinner at Oxford St. Grill

On Thursday, January 26th, chef David Fitzgerald hosts fifth generation winemaker Marcus Huber at the Oxford Street Grill in Lynn for a five-course wine dinner paired with Huber’s Austrian wines. Fitzgerald starts the evening off at 7:00pm with nibbles like apple and Veltliner sorbet rolls in watermelon rind, but that’s only the beginning. The menu for the evening includes courses like pear and Jasper Hill blue tartlet with pistachio and lavender; confit of rabbit haunch en croute with kohlrabi, peach, spices and a pear-wine reduction; bacon-wrapped Vermont quail with wine hydrated apricots, shaved apple, cedar-scented wine aspic, purple potato vinaigrette, almonds and savory marshmallow; and carnival “fried dough” with ice wine granité, caramel ice cream, pear sorbet and fresh tangerines. The dinner costs $75 per person, not including tax and gratuity. Call the Oxford Street Grill at 781.593.3111 to make reservations.
