Proprietresses Mary Catherine Deibel and Deborah Hughes welcome top chefs from near and far to UpStairs on the Square on Thursday, June 22nd for A Tasteful Pursuit, an evening of unparalleled cuisine to benefit Share Our Strength. Executive chef Steven Brand and local chefs Michael Leviton of West Newton’s Lumiere, Dante DeMagistris of the recently opened dante and Joanne Chang of the South End’s beloved Flour Bakery + Café welcome traveling chefs Seth Bixby Daugherty of Cosmos at Graves 601 Hotel in Minneapolis and Melissa Perello of The Fifth Floor in San Francisco. Together, the chefs will be creating a multi-course meal paired with exquisite wines to do their part in ending childhood hunger. The dinner, which is part of a nationwide tour, gets underway with a cocktail reception at 6:30pm, followed by dinner at 7:00pm. Tickets cost $185 each. If $185 per person is a little out of your price range, wine director Matt Reiser (with a little help from the folks at the Weekly Dig, beeradvocate.com, Stone Brewing Company and Terroir Wine Importers) has organized an after-dinner get together in the Monday Club Bar. Called Summer Camp, the party will be a rollicking good time complete with open bar, guest DJ and bar treats and sweets for everyone. The price for admission is $25 per person.
