Samuel Day

A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, chef Samuel Day started his career at The Black Trumpet in Portsmouth, New Hampshire under James Beard Award-nominated Chef Evan Mallett.

After seven years, he left to become Sous Chef at Joinery, a locally-sourced, ingredient-focused, Southern-inspired restaurant in Newmarket, New Hampshire. He made the move to Boston in 2016 to work under Chef Will Gilson of Puritan & Company, eventually becoming the Chef de Cuisine at the popular Inman Square restaurant.

Day has been in his current role as Executive Chef of Season to Taste in Cambridge since March 2022. He enjoys making food from local farmers and producers- focusing the menu on seasonal, sustainable and heirloom products.

Inspired by his previous mentors and restaurants as well as his travels to Italy, Spain, Mexico and Quebec, Day brings his fine dining experience along with his favorite flavors and techniques to the restaurant’s new location on Massachusetts Avenue, which opened in early 2023.
