Check out the New Noir

Noir

With a whole new look and a couple new (but also familiar) faces at the helm, Noir at The Charles Hotel has officially reopened. Pop over to Harvard Square the next chance you get to peep the revamped dining room, designed by architect and artist Thierry Despont, and to check out their new food and beverage program masterminded by two talented and longstanding local hospitality pros.

Award-winning bartender Naomi Levy is responsible for the creative cocktailery. Her French-leaning list uses choice spirits, house-made ingredients and flavors from all over the French-speaking world. They’ve got all the classics if you’re feeling traditional, as well as booze-free drinks, if you’re abstaining. There’s even a savory cocktail in tribute to chef and fellow Cantabrigian Julia Child. Augusto Lino, a familiar face to regulars at spots like Upstairs on the Square, Hungry Mother and Bergamot, has taken over as General Manager. He oversees, among all the other things, the carefully curated and perfectly complementary list of premium wines, spirits and beers.

The menu features simple yet sophisticated bites to satisfy any appetite. There are snacks like olives and spiced nuts alongside more shareable options like a bountiful charcuterie board and flatbreads as well as sandwiches, soup and salads. Leave a little room for desserts like vanilla bean crème brûlée or a cookie plate if you’re craving something sweet.

Noir is open Tuesday through Sunday from 5:00-11:00pm. You can book a table by calling 617.661.8010 or play it by ear and see what’s available for walk-ins.
