The ladies of UpStairs on the Square revive afternoon tea this holiday season with an array of festive afternoon offerings like the Christmas Tree Lighting, special Sunday afternoon Chamber Music Teas and the Show-Your-Stripes Children’s Zebra Tea. Throughout the month of December, pastry chef Emily Wholey and chef Steven Brand will be serving tea tiers laden with special holiday cookies, tea sandwiches and artisan savories Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00-5:00pm. Drop by on Saturday, December 2nd at 4:00pm, for the Christmas Tree Lighting in the Monday Club Bar (the Winthrop Park tree will light up the same afternoon, for an added bonus). If you’d like a little music with you tea, make reservations for Chamber Music Tea in the Soirée Room on Sunday, December 10th or Sunday, December 17th, where you’ll enjoy a string trio playing Mozart and Bach over a $40 prix fixe menu. On Saturday, December 9th bring the little ones in for the Show-Your-Stripes Children’s Zebra Tea, where they can nibble on grilled cheese and PBYJ tea sandwiches and black and white brownies or sip hot cocoa with homemade marshmallow.
