Aspiring chefs take note: the deadline for the New England Culinary Institute’s Taste of New England Scholarship Recipe Contest is fast approaching. Submit your complete recipe and entry form by Friday, November 17th and your original entrée or dessert, chock full of local ingredients, could win you $10,000 towards a culinary degree (second place gets you $7,500, and third pulls in $5,000). Open to prospective students for all of NECI’s terms (December 2006, and March, June and September 2007), the game is on and the competition is just heating up. Entries will be evaluated on originality, taste and flavor, use of native New England ingredients, the balance of ingredients, presentation and ease of preparation.
