Finely JP’s fans can finally rejoice, their beloved dinner destination is open for the 2006 season. Celebrating 16 successful years in Wellfleet, chef John Pontius has given the restaurant a complete overhaul, but devotees will know they’re in the right place as soon as they see the menu. Pontius’ signature dishes have all made the cut – baked Wellfleet oysters Bienville; lobster cataplana; and sautéed medallions of pork with apples and goat cheese. The dining room, however, sports a totally new look with a cedar-walled lounge that’s perfect for a cocktail before dinner or as a perch for the evening. The split-level dining room gives diners the choice between the lower level which has large windows looking onto a small lush courtyard or the airy upper dining room with its vaulted ceiling and a cut-away floor. A roof deck raw bar is a perfect spot to mingle over drinks and freshly shucked shellfish. Finely J.P.’s just started taking reservations, so call 508.349.7500 to book your table and make your way to Wellfleet to see their fancy new digs.
