A New Twist on a Warm Weather Treat

Restaurateur Frank De Pasquale, the man behind the women behind North End’s beloved Bricco and Mare, and the Financial District’s Umbria, turns his attention to gelato, with the opening of the aptly-named Gelateria. De Pasquale has partnered with Maestro di Gelati Giovanni Gigliotta of Naples, who’ll be whipping up more than 50 flavors of Italy’s signature dessert on a daily basis. Expect perfectly rendered traditional flavors like tiramisu, hazelnut and zabaglione as well as more unusual offerings like pina colada and green tea. At $3.75 per cup, gelato might just be this summer’s hottest new way to cool down without leaving the city.
