Chef Scott Herritt pays tribute to opera maestro, Gioachino Rossini, this month at Grotto with a special Night at the Opera menu. The menu, which will feature three Rossini-inspired dishes, reflects a time when cuisine, music, and the penchant for the finer things in life came to the forefront. Guests can enjoy morel mushroom and foie gras pizzette; tuna tartare with black truffle; and the famous tournedos alla Rossini – sautéed beef tenderloin, truffled crostini, chantenay carrots and a foie gras-spiked Madiera wine sauce. The three-course menu costs $36 per person, or $45 with dessert. Grotto will also be playing some of Rossini’s famous works during dinner hours and other opera favorites, so call 617.227.3434 to make your reservations.
