A New Perspective on The Back of the House

Click for a slideshow...Photographer Michael Harlan Turkell’s award-winning photographic documentary, Back of the House, opens at the Art Institute of Boston’s 601 Newbury Street building in Kenmore Square on Friday, April 30th. Two years in the making, the documentary offers a fresh perspective and unique glimpse behind the scenes in some of the city’s top kitchens. Turkell, a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Boston, captured chefs, servers, and dish washers in action at restaurants like Clio, No. 9 Park, The Federalist, Excelsior and more. Click through for a slideshow that provides a sneak peek at Back of the House then stop by 601 Newbury Street (2nd floor) from 6:00-8:00pm on April 30th to get a look at the whole exhibit.
