Chef Philip Aviles has launched two new menus at Masa – a Chef’s Tasting Menu and a bar/snack menu. Now, while you’re sipping your margaritas at the bar, you can nibble on yummy little tidbits like corn chips and crisp plantains with guacamole and salsa cruda; or red chile rubbed steak and green chile empanadas with avocado cream and tomato salsa. Aviles and longtime sous chef Carlos Garcia have put together a three-course prix fixe Chef’s Tasting Menu that features Masa’s all-star menu items like crispy cornmeal fried calamari with jalapeños and red onions with a spicy tomato sauce; chili powder dusted grilled Coho salmon with avocado tomato salsa, roasted beets, Yukon gold potatoes, spinach and a mango chipotle sauce; and sweet plantain empanadas with chocolate ice cream.
