Chef Kevin Cleary and Kathi Cleary are well into their third year as proprietors, but if this is your first encounter with L’Amante, it’s about time you got to know this gem on the North Shore. Settled in a charming storefront in East Gloucester Square, the restaurant is a 34-seat operation with a full bar and an inspired menu. The Clearys do everything themselves with the help of a small, dedicated staff – if Kevin and Kathi can’t be there, they do not open. The neighborhood has been extremely supportive; it’s the kind of place where on any given night, half of the restaurant knows each other.
