It’s Derby Time at OAK Long Bar

OAK Long Bar + Kitchen

If you can’t make it to Kentucky for the Derby this year don’t fret because you can match the trackside vibe at the always-opulent OAK Long Bar + Kitchen in the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Get your boater hats out and your seersucker pressed and head to the Back Bay on race day, Saturday, May 6th for an epic Kentucky Derby Party from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Chef Zaid Khan and the crew will be rolling out the red carpet for you with some special race-themed bites (think: sausage biscuits, and fried chicken sandwiches), and there’ll be plenty of Maker’s Mark mint juleps (check out the race day menu below).

Tickets are not required, and you can either show up for first-come, first-served bar seating, or make a table reservation here. If you head into town a little early, Maker’s Mark reps will be around from 1:00 to 5:30pm for wax dipping demonstrations, where you can dip your own rocks glass and learn more about the renowned Kentucky-made bourbon. And if you really want to be a high roller, book one of only two High-Top Tables for $1,000 (via email) at 5:30, which includes standing-room space for 12 people, a round of mint juleps, a magnum of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne, and food specials.

Take a little extra time choosing a bow tie or the perfect Derby hat because two guests will be crowned “best dressed” and win a pair of Red Sox tickets. For more info and to see pics after the party (there’ll be a professional photographer mingling from 4:00 to 7:00pm), be sure to follow OAK’s socials (FB and IG), and drop them an email if you have any Qs.
