Chef Walace Benica was born in Italy, moved to Brazil as a child and then to the United States in his early 20’s. He proudly holds citizenship in three countries which influences his creativity and his menus.
Benica spent 12 years with Charles Sarkis and The Back Bay Restaurant Group. During this time, he worked with the multiple Papa Razzi Trattorias, became the opening chef for the successful Tuscan Kitchen Burlington location, and worked in the kitchens of the Lyons Group restaurants.
Currently, Benica is the Corporate Chef at the Wellesley Restaurant Group, where he oversees the kitchen operations & menu development for all locations of The Local Restaurants.
