David Punch

Chef David Punch’s culinary career began in Home Ec class at Natick High, where he perfected his pancake-making. A stint skiing and cooking in Vermont solidified his love for life in the kitchen and he’s never looked back.

Punch learned the ropes in kitchens around town including the Nightingale, UpStairs on the Square and Rendezvous before teaming up with Krista Kranyak at Jamaica Plain’s Ten Tables. After three years at the helm, he became an owner himself, opening Ten Tables Cambridge. At the second location of the popular low key eatery just across the river, Punch continued to hone his skills, crafting an approachable and delicious menu full of flavorful ingredients executed professionally; food that, put simply, makes people happy.

In late 2012, Punch opened Sycamore in Newton Center, where he and his team offer diners the best of both worlds: a delicious meal that they don’t have to cook themselves in at atmosphere that’s almost as comfortable as home.
