Governor Charlie Baker has signed a bill allowing restaurants to sell mixed drinks to-go…finally! There are, of course, rules — bevvies must be sold in sealed containers and can only be purchased with food in limited quantities before midnight. You can read the whole bill here to get all the details if you are so inclined but the general gist is this: you can soon be sipping your favorite craft cocktails from the comfort of home. Here are a bunch of tantalizing to-go cocktails that are already available for take-out. Pick your poison and place your order asap.
Spoke Wine Bar
89 Holland Street Somerville, MA 02144 617-718-9463
Pick up drinks to go with your dinner from the folks at Spoke. The inaugural batch, which includes the likes of Sun Tea (made with cognac, lapsang souchong, vanilla and oat milk) and Halcyon (made with rum, rhum, coconut, sunflower, orange vinegar and lime oil), are as delicious as they are stylish.
The teams at Barbara Lynch’s Drink, The Butcher Shop & Sportello have pooled their efforts on a mini menu of to-go cocktails featuring rums from Plantation’s portfolio. Available at $26 per 12 oz bottle, the offerings include Mai Tais, Strawberry Daiquiris, Pina Coladas, The Miami Vice and the No. 9 Palmyra (no rum in that last one). Take your pick and place your order.
Chef Delio Susi and his team at Sulmona are all ready to roll with take-out cocktails...they're just waiting for inspiration to strike. Keep an eye out for a rotating selection of spritzes and seasonal Italian sippers from this Cambridge fave.
The barteam at TAMO at the Seaport Hotel are making a seasonal selection of their potable wares available for pick-up and take-out. Consult the menu for their most up-to-date offerings and add one - maybe the Take Me Back or the Oxley Outlaw? - to your next order.
Complete your culinary excursion to Italy right in the Back Bay. Eataly has everything you could possibly want (meats and cheeses and pasta and pizza) right now to the drinks to go along with it all. Add one (or three) to your next take-out order.
Add any (or all!) of these lovelies to your next take-out order from Toro. The award-winning South End Spanish spot from Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette now has portable cócteles to accompany your pinxtos and tapas.
Take your pick from any of the Tres Gatos cocktails, including Kitty's Got Claws and The Mighty Meow. The JP tapas spot/bookstore/record shop is making all of their most beloved beverages available for take-out. Each bottle makes four cocktails so you can have a couple and still share with a friend.
Wherever your summer plans take you, plan a spin through Sudbury so you can pick up take-away cocktails from Twentynine Rustic Mediterranean. They're putting peak-season ingredients —peaches, plums, melons and berries — to good use in some exceptional (and portable!) libations.
Like their sister restaurant in Concord, Woods Hill Pier 4 has gotten in on the take-out cocktail game with a smattering of seasonal sippers to complement their flavorful and sustainable fare. Keep an eye out for updates and special appearances (like the Adelita Margarita), available in single, double pitcher and punch bowl-sized portions.
