Tucked in the shabby-chic Leather District at 107 South Street, Troquet serves up French-style cuisine with modern sensibilities alongside an award-winning wine list.

The menu changes daily, with creative presentations of modern French cuisine utilizing local ingredients and worldly flavors. Dishes are presented elegantly in the dining room, with more casual options available on the bar menu. There are five- and seven-course tasting menus available, as well as a cheese cart to finish off the evening.

The atmosphere is fine-dining with an industrial edge. The dining room is simply dressed, with white tablecloths and brick walls climbing to high ceilings with exposed ventilation and beams. Vintage posters and funky light fixtures lighten the mood, and the sophisticated marble bar balances unfinished wood floors and rough-hewn lounge tables.

Wine is the word at Troquet, with a program helmed by Sommelier and owner Chris Campbell. The list showcases uncommon vintages from all over the world, and encourages sampling with 2 or 4 ounce pours of every bottle available. The bar focuses on the “grain and grape,” offering a well-rounded list of spirits for sipping if you’re not in the mood for wine. There are plenty of craft cocktails to choose from, with a healthy mix of originals and classics. The beers are mostly local, with just a couple of macro-brew crowd-pleasers to make sure every base is covered.
