The eagerly-anticipated collaboration from chefs Frank McClelland and Daniel Bojorquez, La Brasa opened in East Somerville in the spring of 2014. The menu takes its cues from the culinary traditions of neighborhood residents who hail from all over – Mexico, Peru and the Middle East, just to name a few.
But the heart of La Brasa is the wood-burning stove in which the dishes are prepared. Evoking all the warmth and camaraderie of a backyard barbecue or campfire circle, La Brasa is a place to eat among neighbors with food that reminds diners where they came from while taking them to new and far-off places. The menu features shareable plates designed to create a convivial and relaxed vibe. The bar program features draft and bottled cocktails, a fun wine selection, and a curated selection of beers from near and far.
La Brasa is not just a restaurant, but also a small market featuring local produce, cheeses, dairy, and other products. Pop by throughout the day for coffee, lunch, or to pick up items for making dinner at home.
