Perched on the edge of the North End, Ward 8 is the first venture from restaurateur Nick Frattoroli. Though he’s got deep roots in the restaurant industry - his family owns and operates Lucia, Filippo and Ducali - Ward 8 is a departure from the nearby neighborhood’s familiar Italian fare, instead expressing Frattoroli’s vision for a convivial, neighborhood bar offering a unique take on American brasserie and comfort food classics.
The name Ward 8 references the whisky-based cocktail that honors Boston’s former West End and serves as inspiration for the restaurant’s inventive cocktails and craft beers. The expansive bar program is ideal for dinnertime or for late night drinks until the bar closes at 2:00am.
Open for dinner seven days a week, and weekend brunch, Ward 8 is warm and inviting. Industrial accents like exposed bricks, oversized metal light fixtures, beer taps supported by repurposed pipes and hardwood floors combine for a locale that mixes neighborhood charm with urban cool.
