Moody’s Delicatessen & Provisions has the meats, and their location in Copley Square is perfectly situated for all your breakfast, lunchtime, and brunchtime needs. Whether you’re looking for a quick sammie on the go, a sit-down deli meal, or some artisanal treats to bring to the neighbors, Moody’s downtown location delivers.
Moody’s is, first and foremost, a deli, and that’s reflected in the chalkboard menu on the wall behind the counter, where you’ll find a range of sandwiches with meats fresh off the big hand-operated slicer, as well as salads and grain bowls for healthier options. Moody’s is all about the ingredients, most of which are homemade, and all of which are combined in creative ways you’re just as likely to find on a high-end menu elsewhere. Other offerings include house-made donuts and breads from the bakery, Moody’s own charcuterie and pickles, and a cooler full of prepared meals, local cheeses, and other New England delicacies.
The space is clearly streamlined for grab-’n’go efficiency, with helpful signs directing guests to Order and Pickup stations, though there’s counter-seating along the windows for dining in. Curing pig shanks hanging from the rafters reinforce the delicatessen vibe, and you can watch your meal being made behind the glass in the open kitchen. Baskets full of fresh bread and coolers packed with goodies and drinks to go line the walls.
Moody’s doesn’t do booze, but there are plenty of options to slake your thirst. A full espresso bar and cold-brew coffee will get you going in the morning, and a range of local juices and sodas will help you wash down your lunch on the way back to the office (or to the mall).
In addition to all their on-site offerings, Moody’s caters everything from office parties to dinner soirées. Prepared meals can be ordered ahead and picked up on-site.
