Monteverdi, inside The Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, is an artfully-designed eatery from acclaimed restaurateur Seth Greenberg that’s perfectly perched along the banks of the Charles River for sweeping views of the city skyline.
The Italian-inspired menu features flatbread pizzas, fresh pastas, crisp salads and local catches, plus plenty to mix and match from an al fresco raw bar. Bigger appetites will appreciate some heartier mains, and you can cool off with the river breeze and a selection of cutting-edge cocktails or choose from a curated selection of wines by the bottle and glass.
Petra Hausberger of Somerton Park Interiors designed the space which feels rich, calm and sophisticated with walnut-fluted walls, with olive and ochre furniture, terrazzo porcelain flooring, and luxe velvet seating. There’s seating for 220 people between the main dining room, private dining space, 20 bar seats and extra lounge seating, as well as the 86 outdoor seats that make up one of the largest patios on the river.
