Hospitality maven Esti Parsons teams up with her husband, Drew, and her brother-in-law, Jon, to open The Maiden on West Broadway in South Boston. The petit, 80-seat restaurant is a casual yet classy (and maybe a little tongue-in-cheek) spot where Southie diners can enjoy the finer things in life – things like freshly shucked, perfectly chilled oysters, a selection of artisanal cheeses and salumi from New England Charcuterie. There are also carefully composed apps and entrees to choose from. And a pretty epic burger.
The dining room at The Maiden is all pared down elegance, with an open kitchen on one end and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto West Broadway on the other. There’s ample bar seating for guests who prefer bar eating, and high and low tops for more structured outings.
It’s beer and wine only at The Maiden but you won’t miss the booze. There are eight Northeast beers on draught, by-the-glass offerings in shades of red, white, rose and sparkling, and cordial-based cocktails in categories like Reviving, Sustaining and Aggro-Inducing.
