The Frogmore, sibling restaurant to Brookline’s much-loved Fairsted Kitchen, offers a taste of comfort food and graceful charm amidst the Jamaica Plain bustle. As evidenced by pineapple-heavy décor and a friendly staff, The Frogmore nails the southern sensibility—pineapples are a symbol of hospitality in ‘Lowcountry,’ the geographic area of coastal South Carolina whence the menu gets its inspiration.
Chandeliers, heavy drapes, gleaming wood and oil paintings add to the ambience of the dining room, where diners can enjoy Lowcountry fare or just relax at the bar for a drink (try one of the Fridge Beers—it’s exactly what it sounds like). Though the space lacks a full liquor license, the bar program makes up for that by churning out inventive cordial cocktails. During the warmer months, The Frogmore’s geniality spills out onto their spacious Centre St. patio.
