With Cinquecento, their eighth endeavor, the Aquitaine Group brings the fare and feel of Rome to the burgeoning SOWA neighborhood. South End diners, natives and visitors alike, can bask in all manner of Italian comfort, charm and style at the contemporary, casual and energetic spot that’s fit for a celebratory night out or a spontaneous mid-week dinner.
A striking illuminated cast iron and glass staircase sets the stage, leading guests to the main dining room and bar, where design elements like reclaimed beams and bricks, biscuit tufted leather banquettes and traditional tables (including two trattoria-style communal tables) combine to create a feel that's simultaneously sophisticated and rustic.
Dictated more by custom, comfort and quality, the menu features traditional Roman cooking, with dishes incorporating the very best seasonal, local and imported ingredients. The wine program features an all-Italian wine list, simple rooted-in-tradition cocktails, European and domestic beers, and a large selection of Amaro. A barista turns out coffee and espresso to end each meal - a nod to the significant role that coffee plays in Roman culture.
The restaurant boasts a state-of-the-art private dining room as well as ample free parking and one of the South End’s most pleasant outdoor dining spaces tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
