In a picturesque space overlooking North Square and wrapped by the Freedom Trail, Ciao Roma features a flawlessly executed menu of Italian and Italian American classics – house-made pasta and favorites like amatriciana, carbonara, vodka sauce, and more. There’s a robust seafood section in addition to chicken, veal, steaks and chops.

The upstairs dining room balances style and nostalgia, with floral wallpaper, wood trim, and white table cloths while the downstairs bar area is bright and airy, with original tin ceilings and marble countertops. The space was designed by Justin Power of All Day Hospitality, who has designed all of their other sister restaurants including Bodega Canal, Tony & Elaine’s and the renovations at Ward 8.

Ciao Roma replaces Ciao Bella which replaced North Square Oysters, though not entirely. Making use of a private, 10-seat bar, North Square Oyster will be reincarnated as North Square Oyster Bar, a scaled-down version of the celebrated seafood restaurant serving beloved dishes like the lobster roll, fresh oysters, creative crudos.

The beverage program highlights wines certified organic and biodynamic wines with an emphasis on small production and sustainability. There's also a wide selection of Italian craft beers, and a cocktail list featuring retro drinks like the espresso martini, cosmos, lemon drops, and the like, but made with fresh ingredients.
