The second inventive Newburyport-based restaurant from Nancy Batista-Caswell, Brine is the only oyster, crudo and chop bar in the Greater Boston area (and possibly beyond). From its center-of-town spot right on State Street, the diminutive restaurant seats sixty in the brick-walled dining room and at its sleek stainless steel and marble bar.

The stars of the show at Brine, however, are the fresh fish and butchered meats that grace the market-driven menu. Guests can choose from a daily smorgasbord of ceviche and crudo in addition to select prime cuts and butchered chops. The offerings, complemented by seasonal craft beers, specialty cocktails and a carefully curated wine list, change regularly so there’s always something new to try.
