If you’re looking for a sports-bar alternative in the neighborhood surrounding the TD Garden, Bodega Canal has what you’re after. From the hip crew behind Ward 8 and North Square Oyster, Bodega Canal brings the heat with vibrant and imaginative Mexican cuisine and killer cocktails in a sexy, low-key atmosphere perfect for both mid-week lunches and midnight dancing.
Whether you’re having a pre-game snack or a night on the town, the menu at Bodega is designed to be versatile, fun, and unpretentious. A variety of creative homemade guacamoles and a selection of classic and reinvented tacos are sprinkled in among classic Mexican entrees and street-food style snacks.
Inspired by a timeworn Mexican mansion, the space gives off a moody, sexy vibe and also seems like it might be haunted. Dark woods and ornate flourishes make the restaurant feel decadent, but the funky lighting, weathered surfaces, and abundant candles make it feel cozy, like people have been having a good time here for centuries. In addition to the main dining room and lounge, the restaurant boasts three separate bars on multiple levels, giving you plenty of nooks to explore on repeat visits.
All three bars at Bodega showcase serious cocktails alongside seriously fun sangria, shot, and frozen drink options, offering something for everyone in your party and for every occasion. There are a variety of margaritas and a respectable list of tequila and mezcal offerings to keep the Mexican theme going, as well as house-made craft cocktails and beers on tap featuring both Mexican classics and crafty domestics. The wine list is short and sweet and mostly Spanish, but was designed with the food in mind.
Private dining is available in the restaurant’s varied spaces, and a late night menu is served seven days a week.
