Bistro Duet presents downtown Arlington with modern French cuisine in a refined, historic setting. Inside the painstakingly restored former Five Cents Savings Bank on the corner of Mass. Ave. And Chandler Street, enjoy simple, traditional fare that draws inspiration from all corners of France in an open, vibrant atmosphere.
The menu at Bistro Duet showcases the best of French cuisine from all the country’s diverse regions, using locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients. Guests can experience a traditional French feast or more casual, lighthearted fare in the bar area. Open nightly for dinner and for Jazz Brunch on Sundays, Bistro Duet is a neighborhood fixture for all occasions. And whatever culinary experience you’re in the mood for, you can watch it being prepared in the restaurant’s gorgeous open kitchen.
The dining atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, with decor that pays homage to the building’s past. Enter through the old bank vestibule and dine under the restored barrel-vaulted ceiling, with original woodwork and oval windows making the space feel both warm and spacious.
The bar is just as inviting as the dining room, with a worldly wine list that manages to be both deep and approachable. With a list of delicate aperitifs and liqueurs, French-inspired cocktails, and local spirits and beers, there’s a sip to suit any palate or occasion.
And speaking of occasions, the restaurant offers a variety of private dining options. The Chef’s Counter is an intimate dining experience for up to four people, offering special tasting menus and wine pairings. For parties of 2 to 12, reserve the Vault—the historic bank’s working vault which has been converted into a secluded dining space. For parties of up to 40, the restaurant has a traditional events space which can be decorated for any occasion. There is also live music on select nights each month and every weekend during the aforementioned Sunday brunch.
