Amp up your game day dip. This Super Bowl, take a page from chef Kyle Ketchum’s playbook with a warm crab spread for a little extra decadence, worthy of the G.O.A.T. title. Shredded lump crab is mixed with cream cheese, topped with bread crumbs and baked to bubbling perfection. Your football guests will rush to huddle around the bowl, gaining you all the extra points.

Ingredients

  • 3 pound block of cream cheese, room temp
  • 2 pounds white cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 3 ounces Old Bay seasoning
  • 3 Serrano peppers, finely diced (with seeds)
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 6 ounces lemon juice
  • 2 pounds lump crab, hand-shredded
  • panko bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. In a large mixing bowl combine the cheeses, Old Bay, pepper, cream and lemon juice. Use a firm whisk to mix until thoroughly incorporated.
  2. Place 1/4 of the dip into an ovenproof dish, cover with a layer of crab, then more dip. Continue until the dip is gone.
  3. Sprinkle the top with panko crumbs and bake 12-18 minutes until hot and bubbling. The bread crumbs should be golden brown.
  4. Remove from oven, let cool, and enjoy with housemade toast points or crispy potato chips.
