Massachusetts’ first and only natural winery, founded in 2023 by husband-and-wife team Eliot Martin and Katie Luczai, now has a home in the heart of downtown. Marzae Cellar + Provisions has officially opened at Boston Public Market (BPM), bringing a wine bar, bottle shop and all-day gathering place centered on New England-made wines, seasonal food and locally sourced provisions.
Occupying the Market’s largest retail space, the approximately 95-seat destination offers everything from a quick glass of natural wine and a snack to full meals featuring local ingredients. Guests can also browse shelves stocked with New England-made products like cheeses, charcuterie, chocolates, hot sauces, bitters and shrubs to take home. The opening menu (see below) includes customizable cheese and charcuterie boards, as well as seasonal small and large plates.
The new concept is woven into the fabric of the Market itself, sourcing ingredients from fellow vendors like Red’s Best, George Howell Coffee and Curio Spice Co., while a custom mural by local artist Laurel Greenfield links the new space to the Market’s main hall. Later this summer, Marzae will also introduce a draft wine program and refillable growlers (an uncommon approach in the region that aims to reduce packaging waste) as well as a new line of kombucha-based nonalcoholic beverages.
Marzae Cellar + Provisions is now welcoming guests during its public soft opening, with full operations expected by mid-August. You can book a table online here or stop by to raise a glass and see how Massachusetts-grown natural wine is helping shape the next chapter of New England’s food and beverage scene.
