Beacon Hill is about to welcome a new culinary landmark: nine, the latest concept from nine Restaurant Group, is set to open its doors later this spring at the storied address of 9 Park Street. Helmed by seasoned local restaurateur Allan Rodriguez (El Centro, La Neta and Sabina) and rising star chef Andrew Simonich (No. 9 Park, Sportello and Menton), the restaurant promises a refined yet contemporary take on hospitality, fine dining, and the art of the guest experience.

The name is a nod to the restaurant’s prestigious location overlooking Boston Common, but it also signals a fresh start for the space, which once housed Barbara Lynch’s award-winning No. 9 Park. With nine, Rodriguez and his team aim to strike a balance between timeless elegance and modern ease—inviting guests to settle in whether they’re enjoying a full tasting menu or grabbing a cocktail and small plates at the bar.

At the heart of the concept is Simonich’s seasonally inspired menu, which draws from classical French techniques while folding in flavors from across Europe. Guests can opt for a curated tasting experience that unfolds like a narrative—each course layered with intention—or build their own meal à la carte. Hand-cut pastas and shareable plates showcase New England’s freshest ingredients, crafted with care and precision.

On the beverage side, nine is poised to make waves with the city’s first official “gin palace,” offering a thoughtful selection of gins from around the globe in a setting that nods to the glamor of 19th-century London. A deep and dynamic wine list emphasizes French producers alongside hard-to-find global gems, with an approachable team of sommeliers ready to guide the way.

The design, a collaboration with Adige Design, reflects the ethos of the restaurant: understated luxury with a sense of place. The dining room and bar feel distinct but connected, featuring handcrafted elements by local artisans and a showstopping mural by artist Arminda Maritsa Ferreira that blends Boston’s past and present. Expansive windows offer striking views of the State House and Boston Common, making every seat feel like a front-row experience.

As anticipation builds for its late spring debut, nine is poised to become a new cornerstone of Beacon Hill’s dining scene. Stay tuned for more info.
