You may have seen on chef Will Gilson‘s Instagram, the beauteous and historic carriage house at The Herb Lyceum was hit by a catastrophic fire earlier in September. Groton locals, and anyone who’s ever attended an event at Gilson’s family farm that hosts dinners, weddings, and special events throughout the landscaped gardens, knows how special the carriage house was, and how important it is to get the site renovated and back to life as soon as possible. Luckily, it’s super easy to help out – all you have to do is make a contribution to their GoFundMe.
“As we navigate this next chapter, our main priority is to take care of our team and work with the Herb Lyceum guests to continue to work with them to host them on other areas of our property or connect them to new venues to host their upcoming events,” said Gilson, who also owns The Lexington, Puritan & Co., Geppetto and Amba.
The rest of the grounds were not affected by the fire, so you can also help out by making it a point to buy something from their farmer’s market booth in the next few weeks, which will also help support the renovations, or book your next event elsewhere on the farm. Every donation big or small will help Gilson and the gang get the construction ball rolling a little sooner, which means the carriage house will be back in no time if everyone chips in a little bit.
