Althea Coming to Central Square

After a decade of providing unique Italian fare and unparalleled hospitality to patrons at Viale, co-owner Shauna Reyburn and chef-owner Greg Reeves are branching out. The dynamic duo will be heading just down the block to 907 Main Street in Central Square, opening Althea in the space that recently housed The Dial.

“Healing the soul with food, wine, and humans.” That’s how Reyburn describes the new project – a warm and welcoming neighborhood spot with exposed brick walls and playful design elements both in the dining room and out on the spacious patio. Al fresco guests can grab a table or belly up to the bar while they enjoy live tunes and selections from the raw bar. There’ll be an outdoor grill cooking up all kinds of goodies in addition to a creative American menu built on thoughtfully sourced ingredients, fresh seafood and local veggies.

Reyburn and Reeves, longtime hospitality pros, have been deeply committed to the Cambridge community since opening Viale. Their work at the restaurant and supporting local organizations like On the Rise, Food For Free, Central Square Theater, and The Dance Complex is a reflection of their dedication to taking care of people. They’re excited about the opportunity to expand their reach and to create more room for new culinary experiences for old and new friends.

“We’re looking forward to stepping deeper into the Central Square waters,” Reyburn says. “We know what the community wants and needs–and deserves. Althea lets us do more of that with a new twist–but still growing from strong local roots.”
