Boston’s biggest burger throw down is on the horizon, and it’s time to cast your votes to be sure your go-to gets to go to the big show. The annual Battle of the Burger from Boston Magazine has opened up the voting for this year’s ultimate burger bragging rights, and if you want to see your favorite patty take home the glory this year, make sure your voice is heard.

The competition is extra fierce this year, so you’ll definitely want to do a little tasting research before you cast your ballot. If you want to get in a burger state of mind in Boston proper, swing by Citizen Public House in The Fenway for a 10-oz. ground sirloin What’s The Craic?’ Burger topped with bacon, truffle oil, red wine demi glace, blue cheese butter, scallions, and swing by Stillwater downtown for a Flat Patty Burger with two griddled butter and herb Brandt beef patties, melted Cabot cheddar, shredded lettuce, pickles and sauce. Round it out in Copley Square for OAK Long Bar + Kitchen‘s elegant house patty topped with smoked bacon, Bibb lettuce, red onion jam, sharp Vermont cheddar and aioli. If you’re in Southie, take some notes on Lincoln Tavern’s signature burger made with a wood grilled prime blend, bacon aioli, Cabot sharp cheddar, caramelized French onions and a house-made brioche sesame seed bun, then pop over to Loco Taqueria and Oyster Bar to taste their Smash Burger with two smashed patties, cheddar cheese, fresno aioli, and diced white onion. Save a little room for Fat Baby’s Wagyu Sliders, which are topped with American cheese, spicy mayo, and jalapeno relish. Round out your burger tour in Cambridge, as Alden & Harlow’s Secret Burger, made with an in-house 8-oz. Creekstone grind and a house-made roll is up for top honors, as is The Dial’s Lamb Merguez Burger that comes on a brioche bun with harissa, feta and pickled red onion.

Get your votes in here ASAP — only 15 burgers will get to compete in the finals, which will be judged in-person at the Encore Boston Harbor on Saturday, September 9th. Grab advance tickets for the event for $110 (plus a small admin fee) here, and keep your eye on Boston Mag’s Instagram to see if your favorite handheld makes the cut.
