You don’t have to go far to escape the heat and the hustle and bustle of the city this summer – just head for the elevators at The Colonnade Hotel and make for their Rooftop Pool (RTP), which opens for the season Tuesday, May 30th. The glorious urban oasis is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00am-9:00pm and Sundays from 2:00-8:00pm for a $50 entry fee, and open 24/7 for hotel guests at no additional cost (this is your sign to treat yourself to a staycation).
Open through Labor Day, RTP offers a full a la carte menu of food and drinks from chef Nicholas Calias and the team at LUCIE Drink + Dine as well as amenities like chaise lounges, plush towels, ice water, and free sunscreen dispensers. If you want to splurge for the day, you can rent a private cabana at an additional price complete with lounge chairs, couches, a TV, refrigerator, charging stations, Sun Bum sunscreen and dedicated waitstaff. The menu includes summery specials like burrata salad with heirloom tomatoes and grilled peaches, sesame tuna bao buns and a lobster roll on brioche. And there’s no shortage of refreshing drinks like a frozen Coco Loco with Sailor Jerry Rum, Blue Curacao, pina colada blend, strawberry and pineapple and Watermelon Sugar with Absolut watermelon, lemonade and watermelon puree.
If you’re staying at the hotel or are a member of the Equinox on Dartmouth Street, you can enjoy Wednesday morning yoga classes at 7:00am starting June 14th, so keep an eye out for the sign ups. To book your reservation for the rooftop, give the Colonnade a call at 617.425.3408 and visit there website for more information. Space is limited, so make sure to plan your rooftop outing in advance and, just a heads up, RTP is 21+ after 5:00pm.
