If you’re looking for the freshest oysters this summer, you can go straight to the source at the Raw Bar at Island Creek Oyster Farm in Duxbury. Officially open for the season, they’ll be shucking oysters daily at the indoor raw bar from 12:00-9:00pm and at the outdoor raw bar from 12:00pm to twilight. Located on Island Creek’s working waterfront farm, this lovely seasonal hang boasts water views and shellfish that have been plucked from the Duxbury Bay just a few hours before making it to your table. In addition to local oysters from Duxbury, the Raw Bar will offer varieties from Kingston and Plymouth as well as other sea-centric goodies like caviar, tinned fish and crab. There’s plenty of outdoor seating with picnic tables and a long communal driftwood table – they don’t take reservations, so plan your outing accordingly.
