Aceituna Grill Open on Newbury St.

Brittany Di Capua

Aceituna Grill, a family-run eatery with locations in the Seaport, Financial District and Kendall Square, Cambridge, opened its fourth location on Newbury Street at the end of March. Run by the Kurban family, the restaurant will offer familiar menu items from its sister restaurants (like its notorious shawarma slow cooked on vertical grills), along with new mezze and cocktail offerings. Guests are offered a selection of house-marinated proteins and traditional sides and salads to create their own plates, salads, and pita roll-ups, enjoyed either in the casual seat-yourself dining room or at home, the office, or wherever their next meal takes them.

The new location is split into two sections. One side offers casual and convenient counter service with a “build-your-own Mediterranean experience.” The other side features a marble-topped 12-seat bar and coveted high tops and love-seat benches. Here, guests can enjoy Mezze (small bites) such as Machos, Aceituna Grill’s take on nachos made with house-made crunchy pita chips layered with Mediterranean toppings and house-made sauces in addition to fresh kabobs, pita bites, sides, as well as chips and homemade dips.

The restaurant also offers a Mediterranean-themed cocktail list created by the late craft cocktail legend, Brother Cleve before his passing, with additions from his protégé, Nick Mallia. The menu features a carefully curated selection of signature cocktails, including Cleve’s Idol: An Homage to a Legend and Phoenician Punch: A Caramel Coffee Tiki Adventure.

Open daily from 10:30am-10:00pm for dine-in (indoors and out) and take-out, Aceituna Grill offers an authentic taste of the Mediterranean, serving recipes perfected over generations in Lebanon and brought to America by the Kurbans. Scope out the menu online here and make a beeline to Newbury Street (267 Newbury St., Boston, MA 02116) to check out their new digs or call 857.239.8973.
