Vegetarian & Gluten-Free for Restaurant Week

Vegetarians and gluten-free eaters, don’t miss out on the tasty deals during this winter’s Restaurant Week Boston (aka Dine Out Boston). Many eateries have kept their veg and GF friends in mind this year, offering a number of plant-based and gluten-free options to make the two weeks of restaurant deals easier and delicious for those with dietary restrictions. From pastas and risotto to burgers and chicken you’ll be sure to find something that suits your fancy.

Plant-based eaters, choose from options like Crispy Plant-Based Chicken from the Smoke Shop in Seaport or Bulgur Chickpea Pilaf from Trade. If you want to try something new, Lucie is offering a Butternut Squash Steak with butternut cashew puree, pepitas granola, cider gastric and frisee or head to Para Maria to try the Mojo Heirloom Cauliflower with sweet plantain mash, spiced yogurt, crispy garbanzo bean and avocado. And if you’re steering clear from meat and gluten, Rail Stop’s risotto can be made gluten-free and vegan so you can enjoy all the creamy carnaroli rice, or order the vegetable bibimbap from Russell House Tavern.

Pasta lovers, do not fear there’s plenty of GF and veggie friendly options. South End Buttery is offering chicken or eggplant parm with local mozzarella, marinara, basil, and spaghetti (with gluten-free noodles available). Terramia has a gluten free pappardelle alla bolognese along with a vegan ravioli with zucchini, eggplant, red bell peppers and tomatoes, and don’t forget to finish it off with their flourless chocolate cake and vegan gelato. For the vegetarians, The Butcher Shop is serving up plenty of fun salads plus orecchiette with creamy pesto, toasted pine nuts and parm.

Find the vegetarian and gluten-free plates on the Restaurant Week Boston site by looking for the little green pepper icon and the gluten free symbol, then plan your meals accordingly.
