The dining cycle has come full circle for Guy Ciolfi, the owner of the all-new fast casual restaurant Chicken & The Pig at MarketStreet. Facing restaurant shutdowns during the pandemic, Ciolfi decided to make a pivot from in-person dining at his successful Servizio Cafe & Corporate Catering Co. in Burlington, and bet the farm on a food truck. A little over a year later, his little truck that could has become so successful that it was time to find something a little more brick and mortar, and what better locale to put down some roots than in his hometown of Lynnfield?
Ciolfi won the North Shore over with his hand-breaded chicken cutlet sandwiches, specialty gourmet hot dogs, and more, and now you can get all your fave Chicken & The Pig goodies at its home next to Paper Source at the upscale outdoor shopping center. There will be lots of the signature favorites at the new digs, like The Bird Is The Word sandwich with house sauce and homemade pickles, plus other new hot takes on chicken sandwiches such as the Sweet Heat with honey-chipotle sauce, tomato and lettuce, and The Greek with feta cheese, lettuce, tomato and homemade Greek dressing. There’ll also be plenty of hot dogs, like The Czar Dog wrapped in bacon and topped with Russian slaw, and the German Dog with brew pub style mustard, sauerkraut and cheddar cheese. Fill out your feast with sides like Truffle Parmesan Waffle Fries tossed with fresh rosemary, parmesan cheese and truffle oil, and Bacon on a Stick – three pieces of thick cut bacon glazed with brown sugar and cayenne. If you’re not totally stuffed at that point, there’s soft serve vanilla ice cream and freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies (or both as ice cream sandwiches) for dessert, and you can wash it all down with a milkshake, or a locally-brewed craft beer.
The new dining room features lots of reclaimed wood, concrete countertops and cast iron, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating with several booths and countertop seats. Chicken & The Pig is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00am to 8:00pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 9:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am to 7:00pm.
