Pies are a major part of planning the perfect Thanksgiving feast, so what if this year’s sweet treats could do double the giving? Thanks to the 30th annual Pie in the Sky fundraiser organized by Community Servings, you can have all the apple, pecan, or pumpkin pies you want, baked by some of Boston’s best chefs and bakers, while also helping out people in need.

Chefs around the city bake up a storm every year to donate thousands of pies to the event, which you can order with a $30 donation. If you’re not that into pie (or you’re feeling extra thankful for what you’ve got) you can also donate a pie to a family in need. Community Servings then uses each donation to give one of their clients, who struggle with a serious illness like HIV/AIDS, cancer, heart disease or diabetes, a week’s worth of healthy meals.

Head to this link to donate; ordering will run through the third week of November. Once you’ve got your goodies secured, all you need to do is head to a designated pick-up site on Tuesday, November 22nd and grab the goods. Community Servings is hoping to meet their goal of $1 million in donations this year, so don’t be shy — order some pie!
