Juneteenth Cocktail Special at MIDA

MIDA

Celebrate Juneteenth all weekend at MIDA. Pop in to chef Douglass Williams’ celebrated South End and Newton eateries for a Juneteenth Blueberry Smash cocktail — all of the proceeds will be donated to support Artists for Humanity (AFH) through MIDA’s Community Through Hospitality program. Each of these limited-time-only libations made with Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey will support AFH’s mission of providing under-resourced urban teens the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in art and design. Williams chose to support AFH for Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating end of slavery in the United States, because the organization, “bridges the economic, racial, and social divisions in this country through arts, conversation and creativity.” MIDA is open from 10:30am to 12:30pm for brunch both Saturday and Sunday, and a Juneteenth Blueberry Smash goes great with Short Rib Hash (crispy potatoes, pork sugo, two fried eggs), or come in for dinner from 4:00 to 9:00pm and share some Sicilian Mussels (Sicilian pesto, calabrian chili, grilled bread) and house-made focaccia with a Smash or two before the main course. Reservations are available here or by calling the restaurant at 617.936.3490.
