BBQ Summer School

The Smoke Shop

Sign up for summer school – the fun kind – with the folks at The Smoke Shop and learn how to barbecue like a pro with award-winning Chef and Pitmaster Andy Husbands. He’s put together a whole heap of classes starting in June so you can get up to speed on whichever bbq-related culinary topic strikes your fancy. Want to brush up on how to handle beef? Check out The Big Beef BBQ Class on June 11th. How about the intricacies of smoking fish? You can do that too, in the August 6th Smoking Seafood Class. On July 30th, there’s a Great Grilling Class for all the backyard grillmasters looking to perfect their craft. Other classes cover ribs and chicken and “new style” bbq.

Classes are priced between $190 and $210 per person; you can peruse all the options and reserve your spot through The Smoke Shop website. Each ticket includes the class discussion, lunch featuring the foods cooked in class, a whiskey tasting and presentation, tax, and gratuity. Most classes are held at the Assembly Row location, but definitely check each listing for any venue changes. Bookmark their events page or follow the restaurant’s socials for additional classes about sauces, smoking whole hogs, brisket and wings competitions and more added throughout the summer and fall.
