Running out of options at your local wine store? Let the team at Bar Volpe pick your juice. On Tuesday, April 5th, the experts at chef Karen Akunowicz‘s new South Boston destination are launching their new monthly wine packages curated by Wine Director Kristie Weiss and General Manager Mo Bentley. The aptly named “Volpe Vino” will include four curated bottles accompanied by tasting notes for each varietal – all for just $68. Order ahead on Toast Tab or walk in and purchase right at the restaurant. You likely don’t need convincing, but just take a gander at the themes for the next few months below to see what’s in store.

April – Welcome warmer weather with “Spring Sunny Sippers” celebrating three indigenous Italian whites and one Alpine red. These mineral-driven, citrusy, and herbaceous wines pair nicely with spring produce. In the box: Angelo Negro “Serra Lupini” Roero Arneis (2020), Hofstatter Nero Macz (2020), Le Battistelle Soave Classico Montesei (2019), and Di Filippo Grechetto (2019).

May – Round up the gang for these “Ready to Drink Reds” best enjoy outside or at a barbecue with friends. Whether you’re grilling burgers and veggies or roasting chicken, these wines offer a smooth finish that will complement every bite. In the box: La Palma Bomba Cannonau (2019), St Helena Refosco (2013), Velenosi Rosso Piceno (2018), and Manaresi Merlot (2017).

June – Like a little bit of everything? June’s “Party Pack” is a mix of bubbles, white, and red wines that will please any palate. In the box: Col De Salici Prosecco (2018), Manzone Langhe Rossi Bianco (2017), Piero Riccardi Lorella Reale Olevano Romano Cesanese Neccio (2016), and Rocco de Carpeneto – Aur-Oura Dolcetto (2019).
