There’s no need to wait until the evening hours to get your da LaPosta fix — chef-owner Mario LaPosta‘s wood-fired pizzeria and restaurant in Newton is now open for lunch Monday through Saturday from 12:00-3:00pm. The menu features a dozen different pies, which LaPosta’s been perfecting over the course of two decades (and lots of painstaking research both making and eating pizza), covering everything from the classic Margherita with mozzarella, tomato and basil, to the not-so-traditional Buffalo e Bufala with chicken cutlet, house-made buffalo sauce, Bufala mozzarella and mountain gorgonzola. And don’t miss the New Haven Clam, all decked out in Manila clams, pancetta, oregano, chili, garlic and pecorino.

Along with the aforementioned pies, there are salads and sandos like the Italian Panino which includes prosciutto di Parma, hot soppressata, tempesta mortadella, house-made mozzarella and giardiniera relish on housemade ciabatta or the Porchetta Panino with broccoli rabe, garlic & rosemary aioli, provolone and prosciutto on house-made focaccia.
