Tasty Snow Day Treats

It might be a foul-weathered Friday, but you’ve got to eat and you might as well take a break from work (or kids) and treat yourself to something delicious. Check out these Snow Day deals from spots in and around Boston, then get out there and get good eats and drinks.

Buttermilk & Bourbon Watertown
The Watertown location of Buttermilk & Bourbon (right in Arsenal Yards), will be serving its Hot Chocolate Espresso Martini to keep you toasty and caffeinated throughout the storm. The $13 specialty cocktail is made with hot chocolate, espresso, Bailey’s, caramel, cinnamon and topped with whipped cream and a wafer cookie so it can even double as a dessert.

Citrus & Salt
Jason Santos’ Citrus & Salt will be running its special snow storm beverage. Swing by to try the “I Came, I Thawed, I Conquered” and warm up from the inside out! The snowflake-adorned, icy blue-hued concoction is made with Espolon tequila, coconut, Naranja, and lime and costs $16.

Eventide Fenway
A little snow isn’t going to keep the Eventide team home (they’re Mainers at heart, you know); they’ll be shucking oysters to order for just a buck apiece (1 dozen max per person) in honor of the storm. Lace up your boots, bundle up as you see fit and get over to Fenway between 2:00 and 8:00pm to have your fill with a glass of bubbly and maybe a brown butter lobster roll to really do this whole snow day thing right.

King’s Dining & Entertainment
Wave goodbye to boring snow days inside, and round up the crew (kiddies too!) for a fun day at King’s Dining & Entertainment. The crew are helping give you a fun snowy February vacation day with a youngster gaming deal. Book a bowling game, and kids under 12 will be able to play arcade games all day long — for free! Order a classic pizza for the little ones and treat yourself to some cocktails, loaded nachos and tired children.

Lincoln Tavern
Don’t go stir crazy all stuck inside in the storm, head to South Boston for an early start on Lincoln‘s weekend specials like their Clam Fra Diavolo Pizza, topped with chopped clams, spicy pomodoro, hell peper, mozzarella, chili flakes and parsley (for $15) and some sausage mac & cheese bites with wasabi and yuzu aioli (for $9). Available in house, for take-out and delivery through Ubereats (if you can’t make the trek).

Puritan & Co.
The peeps at Puritan & Co. are dishing out a special dine-in, three-course menu for folks who brave the inclement weather. Priced at $45 per person, the prix fixe features seasonal goodies, keep an eye on their Insta stories for details. And their regular menu is available for takeout and delivery.

The Salty Pig
Make for the Back Bay for snow day garlic knots from your friends at The Salty Pig today or any time it snows three inches or more in Boston. The carby little treats (which aren’t available on the regular menu) are just $1 and they’ll pair quite nicely with some house-made charcuterie or as a precursor to a heaping plate of handmade pasta or a stone-grilled pizza.

Yellow Door Taqueria
The beloved taco slinging crew at both Yellow Door Taqueria locations are serving $5 tacos (dine-in only) in celebration of the piles of snow. Grab your laptop and boots and work from the taqueria instead of at home, so you can drink in the good vibes (and a few margs on the side).
