Orfano Reopens on Friday

JM Leach for Orfano

Here’s some extra good news for Tiffani Faison fans and lovers of Italian fare: Orfano will be reopening on Friday, November 19th. The Fenway spot from the three-time James Beard Award nominee, which closed back in the spring of 2020, makes a triumphant return with its particular brand of tongue-in-cheek interpretations of classic Italian-American dishes.

Expect to find some familiar favorites like the Orfano Caesar, Meatballs alla Raia and Poussin Parmesan – Little Chicken, Big Italian Attitude, as well an expanded selection of steakhouse go-to’s including a Rob Roy Aged Longbone Ribeye, Coppa Chop, and Delmonico Steak with a wide array of painstakingly prepped sides and sauces. Of course, there’ll be plenty of house-made pastas – everything from menu mainstays like Cacio e Pepe and Lobster Bucatini, to new and elegant options like King Crab Alla Vodka with Mentaiko Handkerchiefs.

And. The. Desserts. Pastry Chef Dee Steffen Chinn, who oversees the sweets for the whole Big Heart Hospitality Group restaurant group (Sweet Cheeks, Fool’s Errand and a trio of spots opening at Hub Hall in spring 2022) has brought back some all stars like the Chocolate Cake for Two, Kween and introduced some fresh new creations including Tiramisu Gelatoria with Coffee & Mascarpone Stracciatella Gelatos, Lady Finger Crunch, and Zabaione & Nocino.

Whether you’re in it for the old or the new (or the martini cart, which will also be making a triumphant return to service), book a table asap to revel in all the sophisticated-yet-whimsical glory. Orfano will be open seven days a week starting at 5:00pm. Take a peek at their website for the full menu when it officially drops and keep an eye on their Insta for updates.
