Check Out Prairie Fire’s Backyard Beer Garden

Just in time for one of the best seasons of the year (beer festival season, of course) the team at Prairie Fire has created a Bavarian-style Beer Garden in the heart of Coolidge Corner. Chef and partner Brendan Joy brings his rich culinary expertise to the table, developing a menu around their wood-burning oven and local craft beers. The rotating program of local suds features up-and-coming breweries and tried-and-true faves like Idle Hands Craft Ales, Schilling Beer Co. and Stellwagen Beer Co. (just to name a few). They’ve also got a great mix of old and new world wines along with a selection of thoughtful craft cocktails.

The garden is first come, first served with its own menu (different from the one served inside) that includes summery options from their raw bar (think: Island Creek oysters and fluke ceviche with basil, peaches and radishes) as well as many of your Deutschland favorites (like Bavarian pretzels and charcoal bratwurst). Of course, they’ll have their famous wood-fired pizzas, too and sourdough ice cream for dessert.

The crew plans to keep the garden open until December with some Oktoberfest events around the corner. Pop over to Brookline to soak up the chill laid-back vibes (and lawn games!) at this hidden gem. They’re currently open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00-10:00pm. Keep an eye on their Insta for updates and to see what beers they have on tap.
