Watertown dwellers and diners will soon be able to enjoy a taste of NOLA a little closer to home – Chef Jason Santos’ second location of Buttermilk & Bourbon will be opening in the Arsenal Yards on Monday, August 9th.
The 160-seat restaurant channels all manner of Southern charm with a lively vibe and a menu of Santos’ fun Bayou-inspired fare. Like its Back Bay sister (the OG Buttermilk & Bourbon), the restaurant will feature a menu of classics as well as revamped versions of traditional dishes (think: honey-glazed biscuits, deep-fried beignets, and buttermilk fried chicken). There’ll be a fully-stocked oyster bar and an assortment of specialty items made in the Marra Forni brick oven, too. On the drink list, guests can choose from a variety of beverages – beer, wine, timeless cocktails, and signature drinks including hurricanes-on-tap, frozen hand grenades, large-batch cocktails, and a slew of bourbon-based drinks.
Designed by Erica Diskin of Assembly Designs, the space boasts distinct dining areas designed to evoke the character of New Orleans’ different neighborhoods – there’s a swanky Voodoo Lounge as well as Garden District-inspired section; there’s even a 3D-printed façade of second-story balconies that’ll transport diners right to Bourbon Street.
Located at 100 Arsenal Yards Boulevard in Watertown, Buttermilk & Bourbon will be open for indoor and outdoor dining (on their four-season patio with its fancy retractable roof). Book a table for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, for lunch on Saturday, and for brunch on Sunday. Get hours and additional info on their website or follow their Insta for updates.
