New City Microcreamery, Now in Whole Foods

The local, scratch ice cream shop New City Microcreamery has launched a brand new look just in time for their debut in select Whole Foods locations. At the beginning of the pandemic, the ice cream gurus at this Hudson-based shop (with an outpost in Cambridge, too) wanted to help people get their mitts on all the ice cream they needed from the safety of their home and started selling pints in small local grocery stores. Now they’re expanding their reach by way of this collab with Whole Foods, sharing seven of the classic favorites: cake batter, salted cookies and cream, vanilla bourbon, mint chip, ruthless (chocolate based with peanuts, fudge and caramel swirls), strawberry cheesecake, and key lime pie (with more soon to come!).

Chef Alyssa Lieberman and team use ice cream as the perfect medium for boundary-pushing ingredients in surprising (and mouthwatering) combinations. And their frosty treats are all made with local milk and first-of-its-kind small batch liquid nitrogen process — if you haven’t tried their ice cream yet, it’s a game changer.

You can stock up on your (new) favorites at the Sudbury, Shrewsbury, and Westford Whole Foods Markets. Or, if those locations are a little out of your way, you can always order your ice cream for take-out from either the Hudson location or Cambridge through their website here.
