MIDA’s New Home in Newtonville

Emily Kan

Chef Douglass Williams, chef-owner of the South End’s award-winning MIDA, has been pretty busy with his incredible team over the last few months. And now you can finally see the fruits (pastas?) of their labor with their finished second location in Newtonville. The beloved Italian-influenced neighborhood restaurant is staying true to its roots in their new location with a focus on warm service and wine in a casual setting. MIDA’s Newtonville location is simple yet chic and inviting, a bright urban space with a cozy ambiance. Lighting throughout lends itself to the warmth of the space with European-style with each area of the restaurant providing its own feeling, perfect for intimacy or socializing. The menu is slightly different, providing some pizza options like the artichoke mushroom pizza or red sauce pie with peppers and spicy sausage to pair with your housemade pasta of choice.

Just steps from the commuter rail you can take a short train ride over (and not worry about how many wines you have) or with their free parking behind the building, they’ve made it easy for you to drive over for a family dinner night instead of parallel parking. The Newtonville location is open for dinner Sunday-Thursday from 4:00-10:00pm and Friday-Saturday from 4:00-11:00pm. They aren’t doing take-out just yet, but check for updates through their Instagram. Take a peek at the full Newtonville menu here and book your table today to check out the new spot.
